Mothering

I woke up so grateful this morning. I walked into the kitchen to a bouquet of my flowers from my oldest son and his wife and Junior Mints (my fave), 3 gift cards, and a cat themed Mother’s Day card from my youngest. (He’s been begging for a cat for years, so was that really a gift or a subliminal message?) After a slow morning, we went to brunch and then stopped by our community run food bank to drop off donations. My two bigs FaceTimed with me to cap off a wonderful day.

I love being a mother to my 3 children and a Glam-ma to my 5 grands. However, I also love being a mother to my community. My own mother showed me what it looks like to serve your community and we need that mothering now, more than ever. So, a shout out to those of you who are our community mothers because our fractured communities will not heal on their own. Whether you have biologically birthed children or not, your nurturing, your love and your care is what will bring much needed healing to a world that is hurting for so many reasons.

As I continue to be invited to talk about my book, I hope my readers understand that while the book is about finding your purpose, it is also just as much about the healing that happens during that journey.

Happiest of Mother’s Days to all who mother.

Crowns Up!
