Outside Voice: The Album

I dropped my first album last month in the midst of my travels in South Africa. It feels wild!!!! I've been writing songs for 13 years, but kept them tucked away in a 3 ring binder. Last year, I got the nudge to actually share them with the world and what a scary thing that is. In November 2025, I tested the waters releasing two singles "Just Breathe" and "Eleven Years." The world received those songs in an even bigger way than I had hoped, especially "Just Breathe." I wrote that song specifically as a tool to help people calm down and regulate their nervous systems. I listen to it everyday! I also had an impromptu chance to sing "Just Breathe" at a rooftop restaurant in Ghana and again in South Africa. I even had a chance to sing it to my division at work!

The songs on the full album, still titled "Outside Voice," are designed much the same as "Just Breathe." We live in a world where we hold two truths. The world is challenging and many aspects of life are still beautiful. My hope is that the songs inspire, motivate, encourage, and calm you so you can navigate the tensions of those two truths. The album title is a nod to having courage to use your voice in whatever way fits your purpose. I was a shy child growing up and I had to find my voice and I refuse to silence it.
The amount of love and effort I put into this album is not something I can describe. From writing the lyrics, to creating the tracks, to laying vocals in the studio and painstakingly listening from all angles to ensure I was creating songs that move hearts. In subsequent blog posts, I will take the time to explain the "why" around each song. There is always a story and you already know that I do not aspire to be an archive collecting dust.
Crowns up!
